In the year 2007:

  • Due to an early Thanksgiving, Santa will be lit earlier than usual this year!
  • Starting Monday, October 29, electricians and maintenance men will begin hanging the display.
  • The Fort Wayne downtown Christmas lights will be officially lit on Wednesday, November 21 at 6:30pm.
  • Approximately 250 people will attend the official lighting.
  • This year, Santa Claus and his reindeer are 67 years old.
  • Santa and his reindeer are 155 feet long, weighs 5 tons, and consists of 24,717 bulbs.
  • LED bulbs currently make up one leg of the display.
  • The Christmas lights will remain lit through New Year's Eve.
